LC Promotion by Regan

Recently, you may have noticed that there are three stationary bikes in the Learning Commons. These bikes are part of a program called ‘The Read and Ride Program’. The title sounds pretty self explanatory, however, for anyone who may be confused, it’s basically where you can read while you ride on the bikes. Teachers, as well as students, can use this resource. Teachers can come in while their students are in electives or, they could even use them while their students do an assignment in the LC or find books to read. I have personally seen several teachers using the bikes and enjoying a book. A great way for students to use the bikes is, after they check out, they can use them while others are still looking for something to read. Another time that students can use the bikes is during free reading time if your class has come into the LC. An amazing thing about the bikes is that they allow students to be active while still reading. This can be especially helpful if students have extra energy that day or if they’re particularly fidgety. Overall, the bikes in ‘The Read and Ride Program’ are a great resource for students and staff alike.
