Learning Commons

A learning commons is a place for a student to come to for an opportunity to experience more of what they need to expand their knowledge. It’s a chance to get ahead and reach for their goals. I am honored to be a part of creating this vision. Even though I may not be able to experience it myself, I know that the students after me will appreciate it greatly.
I enjoy being a part of this because I get to learn how working together is a great and helpful experience. I want students to be able to learn without being distracted. They need a place to come to, a quiet place, to catch up on work, or read, or research something for a class. Also, the ambience is calm and inviting for the students.
I believe that this will be a positive improvement. I hope we can change the views students have on our school. Let’s make it a better place for all of us, we belong here. So we should make the most of it, and create something new. There are many things students can achieve in a learning commons, and it’s our goal to get them there.

LEARNING COMMONS

A learning commons is a place where students or teachers can come to check out books, collaborate, work on projects or things they need to finish. It is a safe, user-friendly and inspiring place that has technology and other places to work quietly or with peers.
I think it would be better to have a learning commons rather than a library because most people think of libraries as a place to work and read. If we had a learning commons, they would have a place to work, read, talk amongst each other, and have fun while you do it.
I believe that the best reason to have a learning commons is because more students would get their work done faster and find it easier if they had a way to have fun while working and being a 6th grader, it could help being social and meeting new friends.

Dyamond Jeffers Learning Commons

What is a learning commons? A learning commons is an informational or digital learning center or educational space. Similar to a library or classroom that is to share space for technology, remote, or online education. Tutoring, collaboration, content creation, meetings, reading, or study.
We should turn our media center into a learning commons because it would be good for getting the students more excited about education. A learning commons would be more teacher and student friendly. It would be a good thing because even if the student doesn’t have asses to technology at home you still have books for research and reference.
I feel like a learning commons would be a good transformation for not only me, but all of ESMS. My part in this transformation is to brainstorm ideas to go into the learning commons to benefit everyone.

LEARNING COMMONS

A learning commons are educational spaces, and are very similar to libraries. They can be used as various different things such as, places for meetings, technology information, a place to read or study, and or tutoring.

I think we should have a learning commons because it would be beneficial to the school and students learning. Students could come into the learning commons to study, read, collaborate with other students, etc. Not just to check books in and out.

I feel like a change would be great for the school. It would be something new to the students and teachers. Instead of just having a library to read and check-out books, we could have a learning commons to do various things, not just a couple.
