The Book Fair is almost here!!!
The Book Fair arrives Monday, May 5th. We are really excited to see the turn out and to meet our goals. We have put a lot of work into the book fair and hope that we are the champions this time. One of the new things that we have started with Mr. Weeks idea was Flat Cactus. We had fun creating him and we are really excited to see him traveling around our school telling everybody about the book fair.
We are going to have a few things that will help us out for All For Books. We are going to have a lollipop pull and surprise balls; the money we make from those things will go toward All For Books. We are also taking library fines, and having a teacher’s door contest and putting the money we get into the Donations. We are ready for the Book Fair to begin.

Book Fair Opportunity

                       Book Fair Blog…

The Fiesta of the Mind book fair has been a great opportunity to be a part of.  It’s been a little bit of a struggle coming up with ideas but it’s a good type of struggle being able to bring everyone in the Book Fair Crew closer. The theme is anything that has to do with the Mexican culture.
We have decorated our learning commons to the max; anything from big cardboard peppers, to colorful paper flowers dangling from the ceiling. In our last Winter Wonderland book fair, we were awarded 2nd from Scholastic but from Ms. Travis’ choice of words, she doesn’t enjoy being anything under first.
We are also having a “Taco-bout it” night where parents come in and get a little information on all the things being done in the learning commons and about the Mexican culture. All I can say is, I am glad to be a part of the book fair crew.

BOOK FAIR

Come and see us at your Scholastic Bookfair! This semester our theme is fiesta and we have a lot of exciting stuff in store! We are turning half of our learning commons into a place you can learn about some Hispanic stuff. Students have made posters and trifolds informing us about Mexican facts you may not know. The learning commons is all decked out in flags, streamers, and flowers. This was all done by the ESMS Bookfair crew.
The crew has advertised in many ways. We have thought about going to social places outside of school so that more than just the kids could see it. We were asked to go on social networking sites, not sharing information, but spreading the word about our Bookfair. Everybody joined in by making papers and posters giving information about it. We have done a lot this semester to make this Bookfair a great turn out.
What does it feel like to be a part of the book fair? It is awesome to be a part of this semester’s book fair because we get to help out and incorporate our own ideas. Watching the learning commons transform was quite a sight. This semester’s book fair we are trying to reach number one! Last time we got second. If we get first, I’ll be proud to say I was a part of ESMS Bookfair Crew.

WELCOME to our Book Fair!

Welcome to the ESMS Scholastic book fair! We are glad to invite you to come visit us this year. For we have worked very hard in preparing decorations and capturing our Hispanic theme. Our workers include 8th grade students here at ESMS that are a part of the remodeling of our new Learning Commons. These students make up our book fair crew! They have completely transformed our old “library” into a Mexican fiesta! From maracas to cacti, we have it all.
We have advertised in many ways, such as, getting our teenage crew members to post notices on various social media sites. We have also used Animoto, Powtoons, booktalks (Chatterpix), etc.  We are glad to say that our predictions will bring much fun this year.
Being apart of the book fair crew is a fun and exciting experience for everyone! Gaining the knowledge of working hard to achieve our goals is a learning experience for all of us. Our crew has come together to do just that.
