I love my time as techsperts. we got a lot done this semester. my team got 2 book fairs done. we learned how to you use Spheros, a 360 camera and Google cardboard. We learned how to program a computer with makee makee.

Some of my Regrets is that we didn't get to do are make your mark project. we did not finish the Bulletin board for our section.

4th hour techsperts first semester we have hosted two bookfairs. The book fair themes were wild West and winter wonderland. We made decorations for both bookfairs including campfires,cowboys,snowflakes,and the Polar Express. We also help maintenance the learning commons. We shelve books clean up bookshelves. In second semester we are experimenting with technology and make courses with them. We are also going to other classes and writing blogs about our electives classes.

This year we did many great things. We had a great techspert group with emily, lainey, ryley,
ethan, chance. Everyone in our group were hard works and stayed on task. We have completed
many projects and we are a great group. This year was the first year was many of the
techsperts first year being in a ESMS bookfair. This year we had sme great book fairs, many
books were donated to the needy.

Next year/next semester, we have many projects to do. We will have many more book fairs
were be have chances to give to the needy. We are doing a leave your mark project, which is
were you make a project where you leave your mark. Our techspert group painting and
remodeling the techspert room. It is a very big project but we are a very hard working group.
This project could really change the learning commons.

Dear blog 

     This semester we have done a lot! This semester we started off getting ready for the bug fun winter wonderland book fair! I feel that this book fair was the best that I have helped with and seen at the school because there was a lot of fun stuff to do. We also played with the VR googles and sphero's and that was really fun. This semester we did a lot of fun group projects teaching us how to work with other people.

     I look forward to working with my fellow techsperts and making great memories. I look forward to cleaning the backroom and making the room a techspert home. I cant wait for the next book fair and to see what new books and ideas our techsperts come up with. I especially cant wait to see how many needy books we can give to others. I am excited for the next part of the year to start, and hope that you guys all have an amazing christmas break.

Semester One is Done by Myranda

  The first semester we helped with the bookfair, organized books, worked with cool technolagy, and made the learning commons better. We did two bookfairs one with a western theme. And the other was a winter wonderland theme. We also helped with all for books, which donated money for kids who dont get presents for Christmas, to get books. First semester went really well and I am looking forward to semester two.

  Next semester I am looking forward to working with technolagy, and the bookfair. I love helping with the bookfair. I enjoy being a techspert because you get to do stuff you wouldnt have the chance to do if you werent a techspert. I love being a techspert and I am excited for the semester to come.

One semester down by Mallory

            This semester in Techsperts we did lots of things. We decorated and helped with two book fairs. We started ESMS news. We did lots of things that positively effected our school and the learning commons. We also cleaned iPads, cleaned the back room and innovation lab. This semester in techsperts was a really fun and helpful experience and I can’t wait for next semester.

              Next semester I look forward to more book fairs and decorating for them. I hope that we can go all out like they did for the under the sea one a few years back. I hope I get to give a few tours to new students. I also am excited for our leave a mark project. I’m really excited that we get to do something that will be here next year when we are up at the high school. I can’t wait to see what next semester in techsperts brings!

This book fair the theme was winter wounderland and we had a game room for the little kids and had a movie. We also had food, hot coco and cup cakes for everyone. But right now we are planning out our leave our mark wall, we are gonna paint a wall in the inovations lab and paint everything we did this year on the wall to leave our mark. We are gonna put all the activites that we have done.

     The start of the school year had been so great. Being a tecspert agin this year is great. We have accomplish two book fair! Me and my group work so well. This first semester we focused on being creative. First semester was a great semster for esms learning comons.
         I'm so ready for second semester. We have another book fair coming up soon. This new semester we are working on a leave a mark project. My group is getting very creative for this. This is going to be another great semester at ESMS.

Techsperts has let me do many things for the school. This years I have participated in 2
book fairs so far. I have done Spheros, VR goggles, and many more. You can see my
classmates and I in the learning commons in first hour.

Next semester we will have more book fairs. I hope to have more fun doing things for
Ms. Travis. Ms. Travis gave my hour the opportunity to leave our mark. We are leaving
our mark by making a mural in the innovators lab. When you go into the lab next year
you will see our project.

  This semester has flew by, we have grown so much not only as a class and but as a school. We make a great team, its like we all fit together like puzzle peices. Kyra brings in all the ideas and makes sure we get all our stuff done. Dalton reminds us to have fun while were doing things but still keeps us on track, Olivia is a hard worker, she makes sure she gets all her work done and even helps us get our stuff done. Grace is a hard worker and brings in amazing ideas for all our group projects, and Nolan has fun no matter what and always gets work done, he just likes to keep everyone happy. Last but not least Ms.Travis, we couldnt do any of this without her she inspires us and gives us these assignments to help us grow and help us learn new things everyday. Wait, I couldnt forget all the middle schoolers. You guys make this all work, you come in to see our progress and check out all the amazing things we work on.

          Book fairs have been so much fun through out the year i've been a techspert and they are just getting better. We all habe worked so hard on the bookfairs and we hope everyone enjoys the next ones. We thrive to make you happy and make your book fairs the best yet. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

         After Christmas break we are going to come back and jump right into 2018! New year, new book fairs, and new 6th grade Techsperts! Techsperts can be hard but that's why you have a team right there to help no matter what. I'll never forget shelving books and Dalton pulling out all the wrong ones just to make me put them back up, or when Olivia fell out of her chair, we have made so many memories in this class just this semester, and all of the good and bad memories is what brought us closer. 2018 is going to be a great year and I'm so excited to see how much we progress.

This semester has been great. I helped blow up balloons for the Winter Wonderland arch which was really cool. I’ve helped shelving books. I helped on the idea of the Elf on the Shelf.

One of my goals for the end of the next semester is to finish our mark. Another is to shelve more books. My last goal is to make this year great.

     This semester we have worked on the first 2 book fairs. We also work on keeping the fantasy section clean and organized. Also, we shelve books for all of the sections and clean them up while were at it. We helped with the smore fun reading and winter wonderland bookfairs. This is what we have done so far.

     Next semester we will be helping with the 3rd and last book fair of the year. Also, we will get to have a part in the newspaper in March. Another thing im looking forward to next semester is our leave your mark project. Our make your mark project will be hung in between each air vent next to the natural light. End of semester blog: Kyra 

     This semester has been very exciting. As a techspert we get to do a lot of things that benefit the learning commons, the school, and the community. In the school we plan events, run book fairs, and work with and fix the technology. In the LC we run lessons and fix ipads that come to be fixed. In the community we now write articles for the paper, collect donations for All for Books (more in paragraph 2) , and help with the canned food drive.

    Some of my favorite things that happened this semester were the Winter Wonderland book fair. The whole learning commons was decorated and the balloon arch was enough to send chills down my spine. The book fair also inspired Mr.Rubey on the Shelf, a student favorite (also Mr. Travis’s). Every day he is hidden in a new spot for students to find and win a prize. With that book fair we also introduced the King and Queen. The candidate who raised the most money would win. The money was collected from students, teachers, family, and friends. The total amount was almost two hundred and fifty dollars and all the money went to All for Books, an organization that helps needy kids here in Excelsior Springs get presents and books during the holiday season.

This year I also had an amazing group. Together we accomplished many feats but we also had a lot of laughs. We have become close friends and have recognized each others strengths and weaknesses as well as who they play in our friend group.

Grace: grace is the one who gets everything done. If something needs to be accomplished she will get it done. She is also there when you need a friend.

Rhylee: Always has some idea in her brain even out of techsperts. She also makes fuzzy socks and leggings look good.

Olivia: always prioritizes and helps us stay on task. The best tall person ever.

Nolan: always contributes and helps everyone understand in group discussions. Makes everyone laugh.

Dalton: always has out of the box ideas and looks for different ways to do things. Always makes everything a game.

Today is the last Friday of the year and right now we are making a rough draft of the leave your mark project. We are going to be leaving school next Thursday. Now it is Tuesday December 19 and we are almost done with the 1st semester and its has gone by in the blink of an eye. The last thing i could remember was coming here the first day of school. Achievments: Getting my blogs done at least. The activities like sphero and more. Helping sandy set up the bookfair and the books and the sucker pull and tons more.
Getting to know my fellow techsperts was very fun. Getting to know all the things you got away with was fun. Getting to help out with all the stuff you asked and getting to know this school like the back of my hand.



Regrets: Not having a longer time for christmas break. I would have liked to be able to pick the group of techsperts i was in but this group is fun. Not being able to be a techspert all year.
Listen to all the conversations in every class that i went to. Being able to skip a class and be in here for 2 hours. Being able to meet more kids that went here and meet all the techsperts.




Things I would have liked to do: Was get more done and have a larger group of techsperts. And do the make your mark thing. Being able to pick when i was a techspert.
Being able to pick a group of techsperts and doing a lot more jobs. Being able to see all the accidents that happened to the ipad. Having tons more fun and been able to talk and horseplay "more." 

Techspert by Chance

The first semester of techsperts has been an amazing experience. This is my first year ever being a techspert, and I can tell you that I’ll be here next year. I love coming in everyday and helping out around the learning commons. I love the group projects and the bookfairs.

Some things I look forward to in the upcoming semester is the newspaper articles we’ll be doing The Excelsior Springs Standard. I myself have a newspaper that is currently not out yet, called the ‘Sarcasm Chronicles’ (make sure to be on the watch for the release). Also, I look forward to the upcoming book fair. Finally, the Leave Your Mark project we’re working on.

     This semester went really well we in the ESMS learning commons. We accomplished two book fairs and succesfully got our projects done. Me and my group work really well together and we always do what we are supposed to do. I look forward to working with them next semster.
     Next semster we are working on our leave a mark project. We are planning it out and getting excited about starting it. We are also looking forward to the next book fair and decorating for it. Overall I am excited to see what will do next semester!

    This semester was alot of fun. We had two book fairs that were wild west and winter wonderland. My group and I work great together. We have alot of fun working in the book fair and helping the students.
     I cant wait for next semester we are going to make the book fairs look great and have even more fun. I am also excited to experiment with the technology next semester. Next semester we are also going to work on our make your mark project. We are making a place where you can post pictures by the door. I am so excited for next semester.

SEMESTER ONE by Jacey

 This semester has been great! My textsperts group is working well together. We have made two book fairs happen. One was a wild west theme complete with a bonfire made out of a christmas tree. We also had lasos and hay bells! Our second book fair was a Winter Wonderland. Complete with a huge ice castle on the doors!
  I can not believe that this semester is almost over. I am excited to start preparing for more book fairs and leave your mark. Leave your mark is for the eighth grade techsperts leaving the learning commons. We are making a reading moral for the learning commons. I can't wait for the next semester here at ESMS!

 It was the best being a techspert. I really hope to get accepted back I loved being with mrs. Travis. I will miss her when I leave but I will still see her in the library it was the best to work with my friends and mrs. Travis. I hope the next techsperts are nice and listen to mrs. Travis. In 2 weeks we will have a family night, and on december 5th the book fair starts.
This book fair there will be a variety of books. At ESMS the book fair is a big
event, we go all out and we choose a theme for the book fair.

There is a king candidate and a queen candidate, they have to raise money. This
is another big event that all the techsperts do. Each techsperts chooses a kind,
and you have to raise money for king and queen. The money we raise will go to
charity to buy books for the poor.

We’re techsperts, yet were expected to write blogs each week. I think we should only write a blog every 2 weeks. I think this because as I am writing this, I’m struggling to think of things to say. While this may be extremely enjoyable, I do not find writing an easy topic.

I’m writing a pointless blog so I can get a 4. Techsperts is my favorite hour. Dr. Bryson Travis is my favorite person in ESMS. I’m totally enjoying myself while writing this. Writing is totally my favorite thing to do.

Mrs.Travis and the techsperts will help you find which book is for you, if you want a book and we don't have it we will try and have it next book fair. Hello! It’s Izzy, from ESMS Techsperts, and I’ve been working with Spheros, a gadget where
you connect it to BlueTooth on your iPad, and get the app called Sphero. Then, you can play
with it all you want! You can make it dance, sing, and even act like a turkey! It is super fun to
play with, and some are even waterproof, so you can swim with him! You should definitely
consider getting this toy!

You should also get Dash and Dot, little gadgets you can hook up to your iPad, and play
around with them! Dash has a full body, and he is an adult. But Dot is a toddler, and he doesn’t
have a body, and can’t move, but he can speak so many sentences and words! You can make
them say what you say, and make Dash move around! You can even make Dash move Dot
around in a cup! They are both fun, and you could only get one(although it gets kind of lonely
without both of them), but they also pass the time. You should definitely get these!

For the past three weeks in techsperts we have done a lot. First, we shelved books we shelved the fantasy section and a little bit of the 300's. We have been working on the book fair it's reading winterland. It has snowflakes all around to show the winter spirit. We have a igloo in the workout room which will be a game room for little kids. We will have a christmas movie playing in the learning commons, you will be able to go fishing in a small pool.

Today I have been working on the sign on the door for the game room. We are getting a big peice of paper and writing game room and things like that. We are going to hang the words going upside down the door using fishing line. We have already put the snowman on the door and everything.

     I The new piece of tech that i'm going to be talking about is the Speroes. This is a piece of tech that looks small but it works in a big way. You use your Ipad and get the app. And after you do the tutorial you can drive it you can change the color there are many options. And there are little powers like it will make noises and it will even rainbow. It can jump but I and my friends would not recommend it because it can tear it up. But I think it really deserves a awesome award because it is one awesome piece of tech.



On the 29 a wednesday the book fair will open and the king and queen will be chosen. And in techsperts we are making the king and queen palace and the awesome arch way. And the theme is island which is why we have the snow king and queen which when you donate to them all of it will go to a book charity. And hopefully we will have good sales this book fair and I know that we will with all your help.

 The winter wonderland book fair starts on wednesday the 23. We have been making an arch and it is finally finished, it looks amazing and is very colorful. It is very hard to explain in words so when the book fair starts come down and walk through the arch. We having a king and queen of the bookfair who are raising money to bring books to read for kids who can't afford them. Come down and see the hard work we have done to give up the winter book experience.

     Being a techspert is amazing, I have been telling all of my friends everything we do and they are even thinking about talking to Ms.Travis about becoming a techspert. You guys have to understand that being a techspert is a privilege and we do lots of fun things that other classes will most likely never do. We get the experience of doing things yourself. We write blogs because we love to tell you and others what we do. We love helping and if you do too I suggest you come talk to Ms.Travis.

     Being a techspert changes your daily schedule a lot and comes with a lot of responsibility. You get to be a part of bookfairs and all of the library needs.

     I would recommend this elective class because you get to try new things and have freedom and bond with a small group of people. You have freedom to create anything that represents the theme of the bookfair.

This week im trying to raise money for the book fair and just getting ready for the book fair as it is weeks from being upon us. This book fair is winter wonderland and we are raising money for all for books so kids can have something under their christmas tree.
I feel like this book fair will be one of the best because its everyones favorite time of the year and it will be decorated nicely. This week we made decorations for the book fair and started planning our game for the book fair game room. We made icicles, snow flakes and a hot chocolate mug. We made the snow flakes and put them on the ceiling. Macey made icicles and put them around the learning commons. We also made a hot chocolate mug out of a chair and paper. We put blue paper around the chair for the mug and brown paper for the hot chocolate, white paper for marshmallows, and we made a candy cane. Then we put a snowman on the mug for decorations.

Over the past we have done a lot. The techsperts have been working a lot on decorating for the book fair. We have created a huge ice castle on the outside of the learning commons doors. This week we traced anna, elsa, and olaf. We used a projector and put a image on a white piece of paper and traced it on a white paper. We wlso started painting them and made an ice castle and painted it with blue sparkly paint. We also filmed for ESMS news, we got all of the filmimg done. Jacey, Breanna, and Macey put the castle on the door. I also started writing my essay for the book fair queen.

     I The new piece of tech that i'm going to be talking about is the Speroes. This is a piece of tech that looks small but it works in a big way. You use your Ipad and get the app. And after you do the tutorial you can drive it you can change the color there are many options. And there are little powers like it will make noises and it will even rainbow. It can jump but I and my friends would not recommend it because it can tear it up. But I think it really deserves a awesome award because it is one awesome piece of tech.

Did you go to the bookfair? Well the bookfair has ended, there will be many more this year. Since the bookfair has ended me and the rest of the techsperts have been playing with speros. Speros are a ball that you can control with your ipad, and you can have races with your friends and they are alot of fun. We sold many books at the bookfair and be ready for the next!!

This week we used VR Goggles, I played games and explored in antartica. The VR goggles give you many different options of things to do such as create, explore, and play games. We also filmed fo ESMS News. We finished morgan and myranda's filming, now we just have to film mallory's, jacey's and breanna's films.

This week we have been making the first official episode of esms news. We have been filming the hosts segments and the techspert talk segment. We need to do the sports segment still before the week is over. We also have been using VR goggles. They are pretty cool especially if you do a scary video. Because it makes you feel like you are actually there.

We started exploring the cool technology things in our learning commons. We had choices from things like spheroes, virtual reality goggles, and makey makeys. I chose to try virtual reality goggles. To use them you have to download an app called google carboard. I downloaded it and tried out the goggles. It was so much fun. You could play games, go through the artic, and much more.
