Book Fair

Do you like the book fair?  Well, if you do, come on down to ESMS book fair.  We have the best book fair in Missouri.  It's amazing!  It is spectacular, and I am going to tell you why.

At this book fair, we have amazing decor.  We based it all off of medieval times.  The decor varies from dragons, knights, floating pumpkin men, anything you can dream.  We also have the latest books of our time.  We have Hunger Games, Divergent, Privateer!  Come see the rest for yourself!

Book Fair

The book fair i really exciting this year.  There's a lot more props and decorations than last year.  I like the theme and the things that support the theme.

This year's book fair compared to last year's is really good.

Happy Halloween 3

                           Happy Halloween 3
                                By Devon Bates
It’s the final chapter in this chapter we will found out what It is, who keeps leaving these notes, what will happen to James, and if anyone likes the word tutum. Since I liked doing this so much I might start doing more of them. Let’s head to part three MWAHAHAHAHA!
James opened the door to the hallway slowly more careful than ever before. The map seemed to lead through the kitchen he kept a look out for more pages on the way. On the back of the map was another note from ?.  Don’t mess with anything that wiggles, moves, floats, or anything else around moving in the kitchen.” James started through the kitchen and saw a note he head toward it to find that it didn’t say tutum instead it said “James, turn around and head for the door now it will be your only hope.” James then thought “Why am I listening to these notes its crazy. One wants me to go out the door and the other deeper into the mansion. I think I trust the one to leave.” James turned and head for the entryway.  He got there and on the couch he was sleeping on before was a note it read “James (tutum) I’m sorry that I didn’t explain why you need to go deeper in the mansion and a better reason to listen to me. I’m your father (I am NOT COPYING Star Wars in any way and am not trying to so shush now I have to go back to when I wrote that and fix it) I’m your father’s brother and your long lost uncle Dave.  Trust me please” “WHAT” “I don’t understand this I’m leaving and that’s that bye creepy mansion,” James… yelled. (JAAAMMMEEESSS (VERY ANGRY) WHY)
Then he heard a high screech and a lot of banging noises. Out of the direction the kitchen was came 5 faceless men in servant uniforms. They picked up James before he could move and carried him upstairs.
When up there they took James through a door and into a bedroom in the bed was a giant worm-like thing, it was green and black and had big fangs out of its mouth. It started to talk which made James even more speechless. “James James James I warned you and gave you a chance I really did.  Now unfortunately you must be punished,” said Uncle Dave the worm. James Then screamed his last scream as he was turned faceless and his limbs eaten and replaced.
Well not what I expected to have happen at first, but if I went with my original plan it would have been huge. My favorite part was part one what was yours. Next time will be WAY better, one it won’t be horror and I’ll start earlier than the week of Halloween. Bye and be safe this Halloween oh and watch out for Uncle Dave.
Next story genre: probably fantasy and watch out for next holiday special. (Thanksgiving won’t be there it’s too hard to think of story for that)

Happy Halloween Part 2

Happy Halloween                (Part 2)
                                By Devon Bates
(Again use scary voice at scary part)
Here’s part two, I had to make it two part for two reasons; one suspense and two it got big I mean two pages around 582 words its bigger than my patriots pen essay. I should write stories more often this is fun, but I won’t write it ill type I like typing better. Any way lets back to the story. Just so you know there might be a part 3 BWAHAHAHAHA.
James started to open the basement door and thought for a second. “Wait this reminds me of a horror game I saw, “said James to himself (again gahhhhhh stop it James). James looked around thinking if he took something as defense from anything he’d be fine (WHEN IS ANYONE FINE GAHHHHH). He finally found a crowbar and headed for the door again. He started for the stairs after finding a candle to use as light. James got down the stairs, found a light and pulled the chain “light,” said James. As he looked around he saw the heater, but also saw what looked like a note it read, “Anyone who finds this, follow its instructions and nothing else or It will find you easily. If you find another paper look for the word tutum its (Latin for safe). Any other paper that doesn’t have tutum is NOT by me. If you don’t trust me ok I wouldn’t either unless I told you I’ll help you survive.” James decided to trust the paper and looked around then kept reading. “Look behind the heater. There should be the instructions and remember to look for more papers and keep all papers of mine you find” James looked behind the heater and sure enough there were the instructions. “Tutum, number one: Add logs to the heater if you got cold. Being cold is a sign that It is either close or that It is close to waking. Two: go upstairs, even if the basement now feels safe you need to go. Follow the map you find on the pedestal at the top of the stairs.” James went to the pedestal and saw the map. He picked it up and read it “This way, (tutum) follow the red line,” It said. James then took hold of his crowbar and opened the door into the hallway…
TO BE CONTINUED…. SORRY a new one needs posted so it has to end here sorry!
Think about what might happen to James in the next one and expect more talking to himself in PART 3(THE FINAL CHAPTER)

Book Fair Decor

The book fair décor
Brody Willis
Ms. Travis’s 7th hour has started making and coloring decorations for the book fair. I and Derek are making a dragon to put on our Christmas tree, to make it look like a dragon peeking out from behind the royal thrown. Delaney and Madeline are making a tiger to display as guardians of the castle.
So far, we’ve gotten the entire tiger cut out, and were beginning to paint it, and the dragon has all of its teeth and were starting to make eyes and a nose for the head. We think it would be best to have the nostrils on top of the head, but it would also be cool to have them cut out of the head so that light could flow through them. Another idea we’re going to incorporate with the dragon is to have a fog machine and led lights inside the mouth to create a devious and evil look. We’re working tremendously hard and they will all be done before the book fair
