First Blog by Mia

Welcome to my Techspert blog. The techsperts tell you about their day, what you do as techsperts, or something random. What I going to tell you is what we do as Techsperts. So what we do as Ttechsperts is you pick up all the iPads that don't go home, tell on sheets what we did today, and on Google Docs we tell about ourselves and do a blog like this.

Now for the library there are so certain rules you have to follow. 1. Stay on task. 2. Don't leave the room without  permission. 3. Don't play with the cardboard boxes or other important stuff. There more rules but you can ask Ms. Travis. So if you have any more question ask the Techsperts or Ms.Travis.

Welcome to the techspert blog where we tell you all the crazy things that happen in estigers middle school. We are the 6th grade techsperts and it is our job to help you in the learning commons. So today the 6th graders met their WEB leaders those guys are going to help all of us incoming 6th graders get to know the school a little bit better. We played a game where we had straws and we had to cross our arms, and had to connect the straws to our index fingers with our group and walk around in a circle. It was a really fun “Team Building” activity.

Thursday WAS THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, AND IT WAS AWESOME but i had to wake up sooooooo early  I WAS NOT SCARED BUT THEN WE PULLED UP TO THE SCHOOL AND GOT NERVOUS. I WALKED IN AND ASKED WHERE TO GO, SHE  SAID HEAD TO CLASS SO I DID. FIRST I WENT TO MY LOCKER AND PUT UP MY BAG AND I DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO BRING SO I JUST BOUGHT MY BINDER. I WALKED IN TO MR.EGBIRTS CLASS AND SAT AT RILEY AND SHELBY I DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT.  ALL OF MY CLASSES WENT GOOD AND LOTS OF FUN WE MOSTLY TALKED ABOUT EXPECTATIONS AND WAS NOT TARDY TO ANY CLASS.

Then i went to my extra classes which were gym and tech in gym we did not do what i thought we were going to do we sat on the bleachers and went over expectations. Then i went to tech club and we went over lots of stuff and started on making are folders witch is what i am doing right now. I am so excited and  i can't wait for this year.

WELCOME BACK by Ms. Travis

Hard to believe summer is over and another school year has started.  This is year 25 for me and I feel as excited about this one as I did the first one.  Each year is a new start for each of us.  I have a great bunch of Techsperts and things are already rolling for our first book fair which starts on September  24.  Our theme for the year is Cinema Smash.  This book fair is about vintage books turned into movies.  The kids are learning about reels and what movies/books are vintage.  What is vintage to them is not what I meant.  It is fun watching them learn about them.  They are already planning decorations and such to make the space come alive.

We are also working on cleaning up the Learning Commons. Book shelves are being straightened and inventory of each fiction section is being completed.  The office space is being cleaned and organized as well.  Bulletin boards are being decorated.  We will start other projects as we get through the first few days of school.

iPads for those that paid their insurance will be deployed tomorrow.  The Tech Department will be here to make that happen.  It will take most of the day to get the almost 400 iPads deployed.  That will leave us with close to 300 left.  At this time, I do not have enough space to charge that many iPads.  I hope that some more students pay their insurance and that will help.
