Now that the mystery book clues are up and running just wanted to put it out there that when you guess the book and you guessed it correctly you get a prize. If you ever need any help trying to find out what book it is you can use your resources and check the learning commons new books to find it. Just in case you were wondering the book from before spring break was “the worst class trip EVER”.

The mystery book idea is just trying to get us students to come in and find the book. If You have any idea of what the book is make sure you take your guess, you may just be right. This is our second mystery book and this will continue through to next year. I are very excited that i am one of the first people to start the mystery book.

WEB Leader Selection 2017-18 by Aracely Lopez

In the next few weeks, plus last week and this week, mrs travis has a google classroom for the library, shes looking for new 7th graders to sign up for web. She has sheets, for signing up and wants everyone that can to sign up for her google classroom. If you ask mrs travis she will give you the info, so be sure to ask her if you have questions. If you were wondering, web is all 8 grade students with groups of 6 grade students. They do everything to try and have the newer 6 graders become friends with other students they didnt know. It includes super fun activities too. Everyone is welcomed to sign up so be sure to!

We are having another bookfair in April and it starts April 24th and it ends April 28th. There is going to be a lot of good books. It is going to be a buy one book and get something the same price or less money for free sale. Make sure to go and get some books.

LMS Blog by Ms. Travis

We are making things happen here in the LC.  We have upped our game as far as what we are offering to our school.  I am so excited about the new things we have going on!

Let's start with the Techsperts!  The Techsperts are busy starting some new ideas for the LC.  First hour is doing a Digital Suggestion Box idea.  Second hour is doing Genre recommendations from new books, teacher and student.   Third hour is starting digital book talk group.  Fourth hour is doing a mystery book contest.  Sixth hour is Teacher Feature where you try to figure out who the staff member is by clues.  Seventh hour is doing an author feature.

We are trying to get everything out digitally so that everyone can see even if they do not have time to come in to see us!  Follow us on Instagram, Twitter, Edmodo and of course, here on our Weebly account.  We want to advertise for ourselves.  We want our materials and events to be seen by our patrons.

Now onto the cool new items added.  Our maintenance department built us a portable stage.  We are working on decorating it and making it a place to record different venues.  We have added guitars so that students can come in and practice if they have taken the class or teach themselves if they cannot take the class.  We have added new speakers with microphones for recording guitar, singing, poetry readings, and more.  We have added a weather station that will be put up on the roof as soon as weather permits.  These things are added to our already cool gadgets of VR goggles, Spheros, Makey Makeys, and Bloxels.

We will continue to build on the reasons to come see us in the LC!  We love having classes in and also individual students working on projects!  Hope to see you here soon!

The next bookfair is coming up. Its called smore fun with reading. It is going to be lots of fun! Tyere is also new books in the learning commons. Pearsonally I've seen like 5 books that looked interesting so come check them out. Were doing a mystery book thing also. That is where we post a clue, and anyone can guess what book it is. The book right now is on clue #3. Its very exciting because you can win a prixe if you guess it, so make syre your following the ESMS learning comons on all social media for the clues!!!!

This week all we have been working on was the mystery book project. The mystery book project is when you pick a newer book, and write about lots of clues and mysteries about the book and try and make other student gusss what book it is. We also are getting orepared for the next book fair coming up in april. The book fair theme will be" its smore fun with reading." i am so excited to learn about all the brand new things going on in the learning commons this year. We will have a brand new mystery book each week, one clue will be given out per day. Also some of the other hours are doing student/teacher reviews, plus digital book meetups. We have gotten so many new books in the learning along with so many new activities, make sure ya come and check them out.

This week we are starting all of our new projects. Each hour has a diffrent project. My hour is doing a book club. Se will read 1-2 chapters a week. At the end of the week we will share what we read about. The first week is loser list. It will be lead by Gannon and  Ethan.
