END of YEAR BLOG...by Presley Holman

End of year blog

This year of being a techspert has been fun i’ve learned to get along with the people in my class and mrs travis always has good ideas i wish to be a techspert in 8th grade i will miss being a techspert but before i was a techspert i was nervous because none of my firends had known or have been one but it has been very fun

For next year the new 6th grade techsperts should have more bookfairs and more actividies and the 7th grade techsperts should show the 6th grade techsperts what it is about and how to be a good techsperts

Being a techspert was about learning and teaching new things, doing things for people, and most of all FUN for others and you i will miss being a techspert

To miss travis for being a AWESOMe teacher thank you for all you have done for us you have made being a techspert fun and i will miss it very much

DEAR BLOG...by Paris Edwards

Dear blog,

Being a techspert has taught me a lot like how to work with others, share ideas, and mix
ideas together. Also being a techspert has changed me in a good way it has helped me be more vocal about my ideas, meet new people, and talk more. I liked being a techspert because it was a chance to get to help out in our school library.

I hope that next 6th grade techsperts can help Mrs. Travis and have as much fun
and are awesome and nice to Mrs. Travis. I hope they have just as much fun as we did making the book fairs and helping out with secret projects.

Signing off for good,
Paris Edwards

END of YEAR BLOG....by Ryley McDonald

 Blog
Dear blog,
It is the end of the year and the 6th hour 2017 techsperts are almost over. Techsperts were a great experience and if you are interested in helping, learning, making friends, and teaching you will have the same great experience as I did. In techsperts I loved helping to decorate the two book fairs in semester two called for the love of reading and the other one called let's have s'more books. You may think that we have to be told what to do every day but, in techsperts you make almost every single decision on how and why you want to do things.
Next year I am looking forward to learning more about computers and ipads, and basically how to run the library or help to run the library with my favorite teacher Miss. Travis. I am also looking forward to teaching all these things or helping people to get through problems with these things so that i can make a better person of myself. I loved this semester in techsperts and can't wait to do third you techsperts for the whole school year next year.
Some things I would recommend for future techsperts is to learn how to cooperate and show sportsmanship to your team members and a lot of things in techsperts will be easier. Also don’t try to do everything yourself and let other people help you. And for one of the problems that we had, don't worry about other techspert hours and show respect or in other words don't touch their things. Things I would recommend for being a techspert next year or would wish to have done this year would be to help out more people in the library to relieve the stress Miss.Travis has to deal with each year/ day. And my last message to Miss. Travis and to future techsperts is, I learned a lot and you will to so be strong and help out people the way that you want to be helped in the future.

END of YEAR BLOG...by Caydence Clavert

Blog

It’s near the end of Techsperts, and I've learned a lot. I really wish that it wasn't the end of the year though, only because of Ms Travis, she is the best librarian I know, and I know 6! Anyway I think that Ms Travis is awesome because, she, one, is REALLY nice, and she cares about me. She even said if I want to I can be a Techspert next year, but I wanted to try new things so I picked another elective, but I know for a fact that I’m going to be a Techspert in  8th grade.
I believe that this year, in my opinion, was the best 6th grade Techsperts, unless Ms Travis thinks otherwise, I think this because, of my peers, Paris, Ethan, Ryley, Presley, and Braxton, at first I didn't know any of them, now we are all friends, me and Presley and Ryley. Paris is funny and can sing good too, but I wouldn't call us BFFs like me and Ryley and Presley. Anyway, enough of them let's go on to being a Techspert, and who and why I would recommend this too…

To all the 6th graders who want to be a Techspert next year...
In order to be a Techspert you need to have SKILL, you need to build with skill, you need to work with skill, and you need to organize with skill. You also need to be RESPECTFUL! You need to respect your peers, your job, but most importantly, Ms Travis and her library. She doesn’t deserve your brat attitude, or anything you give teachers, if you are a respectful person then this should be a breeze, but don't miss out on techsperts little moments, take heart of it, and remember.

Techsperts is almost over and it was amazing. And I think that next year will be the exact same. What we did this year was help celebrate teachers put books up and help out Ms. Travis. And another thing we always have fun so for you new techsperts you are in for a ride. One of the  things that I think that could be change is that we should always have something to do I know that is a lot of pressure on Ms.Travis but sometimes we have nothing to do. So another thing that I think is awesome is of course Ms.Travis she is the best she has some awesome stuff like the  the blogs and the VRs. I think that it will be awesome for all the new and old techsperts and i can not wait for the new year to begin.

Becoming a Techsperts by Haley

The reason why I became a Techspert. I started as a band student but half way through the year I switched to Techspert. Techspert is more than just a library helper. We help teachers in their classrooms, help with the book fair, and we help organize the library.
My favorite part of being a Techspert is being able to help with the book fair. Helping with the book fair means you get to make projects to go with the theme. Being apart of Techsperts also means you help the teachers. You get to help the teachers with preparing for labs.
Being a Techspert is so much fun. You get to hang out with Ms. Travis and you get to help check out books. You get to leave your mark on the middle school.

Ending my Middle School Career by Miranda Andrews

It's hard to explain how amazing my year has been in words. I honestly have loved eighth grade more than the other two years I have spent in the ESMS. This year presented itself with endless opportunities and was nothing like I expected. I expected it to be the same as my sixth and seventh grade but it was nowhere near, I was blown away. This year went by so incredibly fast. One of the best parts was being a techspert. Ms. Travis has a endless supply of dedication for this school and it was really amazing getting to see her and her hard work every single day. Not all days were the most fun, like shelving books or cleaning something out but we got to do things that not very people could have done in our school. We got to help Ms. Travis bring her extraordinary book fairs to life.

Part of my favorite things we did this year was for our book fair my team made a game. An arcade game to be exact. Half of the team worked on the game while the other half designed the outside cover. “The adventures of Marshmallow Man!” We made our game with a super cool app called bloxels, where you designed it on a board and scanned it into the app causing it to come into the online world, where anyone could see it. That book fair was the “Get hooked on good books” theme, but we all enjoyed the candyland themed book fair also. In the candyland book fair we all worked together, as a team and made a massive game board. We made all the characters, famous from books and classes seemed to love coming in and playing the game.
This year was amazing and I would recommend to everyone to try and get this opportunity.  Being a techspert means you are trusted and you get to contribute to the good of the school and help get some of the work of Ms, Travis’s shoulders. You get to make miracles. I truly loved being a techspert, but it’s my turn to head to high school. I hope all the other ESMS students have had an outstanding year like mine.

7th Hour Techsperts by Emily Wetzel

7th Hour Techsperts
Emily wetzel

This year during 7th my friends and I have been working on projects, reading, and helping Mrs.Travis in the learning commons. Projects like the book fair has definitely been my favorite! We've made animals, board countdowns, posters, and even more! i loved having techsperts this year because it gives you a way to express yourself while you're completing school work.

From collecting ipads everyday, to writing blogs, techsperts 7th has been a great experience. Doing author of the month was another one of my favorite things to do. Making announcements, working with the book fair, and even taking pictures around the school was fun!

I'm looking forward to being a 7th grade techspert because we will have more opportunities to help around the school, and in the library. Working with the computers, iPads, technology, and just finishing projects is exciting for the new school year. Next year, I hope to think of new things to do for project and create new things. I can't wait to accomplish more work, and work around the school during techsperts 2017-2018!!

End of year by Grace Nedblake

End of year blog by:Grace Nedblake
I liked being a techspert because we got to see what happened behind the scenes of the book fair’s and even get to help set up the book fair’s. This semester we got to put up iPads since we are 7th hour. I loved doing the fun activities like featured author. The best part about having your own activity is that you get to pick how it’s done, what it is, and how often you do it. We even got to have our own projects that only our hour would work on and do. That’s some of the stuff we got to do in 7th hour techsperts.
We did a lot of stuff but these are some of my favorite’s we did. One of my favorite thing’s was getting to stamp the books with a stamp that said Excelsior Springs Middle school library. My second favorite thing was getting to work on the showcase for the book fair’s. Also, I loved getting to work on the projects for the book fair like the stuff that you see inside of the library. Those are some of my favorite thing’s we did in 7th hour techsperts.

Techsperts by Olivia Kelley

This semester in techsperts has been spectacular I have had so much fun with Ms.Travis and the rest of the techsperts. In techsperts we have done so much work and effort but it was all worth it we all have worked so hard together. I had so much fun in techsperts we had funny moments and sad moments but mostly funny.
We have had hard work to do as well we worked hard on those two book fairs we also got to do a lot of activities. One of my favorite activities were author of the month, we got to pick and author and they would be our author of the month. then we would get 5 books by them and tell about the book. We also got iPads everyday we picked a class, at the beginning we get them and then sometimes got them at the end.
One thing I'm looking forward to next year is talking to 6th 7th and 8th graders I'm excited for that because we get to interact with more people. I am also exited for the book fairs because they are going to be big and fun. These are reasons why I love techsperts

Year coming to an end.....by Heaven Crouse

This first year of middle school was made so much better by Miss.Travis. I got to meet people I probably never would have met being a tech spirt. I really enjoyed being able to work with other people. I would love to be in this class again, but sadly I can not. I will miss this class a lot when I have to leave it a long with Miss.Travis. I'm glad I got the opportunity to be in this class.

This year as a Techspert by Aracely Lopez

This year being a Techspert was awesome. We got to be a part of so much and got to do so much more. There wasn't really a time where we sat around doing nothing, Ms. Travis always had stuff for us to do, and it kept us busy. One of my favorites was decorating the library for the book fair and also setting up for the book fair. It was lots of fun being so creative and making everything look super good and organized. decorating the doors was super fun too and coming in during other hours to finish what we've been working on made us feel good. We enjoyed it all!

We also had fun activities and other ways to be creative other than decorating such as Bloxels, Stik Bots, Virtual Reality Goggles, and so much more.  We always enjoyed helping Ms Travis at her desk. We got to check in and out books and got to learn how to put away books, take out books, check them in to the computer and explore a lot. We were never shy as to students coming in, so be sure to help out Ms. Travis next year with all of the chaotic things that happen. Everyday Ms. Travis never failed to remind us about writing blogs, or advertising or just keeping up with our social media. Another thing I really enjoyed was doing the mystery book project. We always had stuff to do, we liked some things better than others, but had a little joy to everything.

I think that next years students will really enjoy being a Techspert. I enjoyed it so much because of our trust being able to do trust worthy things others don't just makes you feel so responsible and lets you know how important things really are. I just wanted to try out other classes. From the beginning of the year, to the end, there was never a time that we didn't enjoy being Ms Travis's student. With all of the funny little conversations, to the big long talks, Ms. Travis has set good examples, always kept us on our feet, and guided us in good directions. There has been times where I've had terrible days and I just needed someone to talk to, Ms. Travis has always been the book I didn't want to write in! She helped us with the big and little things and I think next year will be great, Good luck!

Wrapping thing up by Breanna Williams

Wrapping up being a Techspert is really hard because you do so many things it's hard to say them all. When I came in at the beginning of the year being a Techspert I was really excited me and my group worked really well together. As the year started moving on, the book fair was coming closer, and our group was not always working. That book fair ended and about two months later, we had a brand new book fair. Overall we did three book fairs, and are getting ready for the next years. I loved being a Techspert even though Ms. Travis put us in time out once, I loved working in the Learning Commons and can’t wait to come back next year.

Last blog of 2016-17 School Year by Ethan Edwards

Today is the last blog of my seventh grade year. I was very happy on becoming a Techspert in the beginning of the year. I was also very excited whenever I became a WEB leader. I hope to give my knowledge to the incoming 6th graders about ESMS. We will need to work extremely hard next year on both, Book fairs and Web Discussions.

We have very big plans for our 8th grade year and I'm very excited. I will enjoy the book discussion as well as guessing the staff.

All of the book fairs were so exciting, I loved building the trees in the camp fire book fair. I loved coming up with puns for the book fair, and I am excited to come up with more next year! I will miss this year, and I am excited too see how next year goes!
