Lunch Changes

By: Greg Murphy

We have many good things in our school, but we also have many things that need to be changed. The thing that I think our school needs to change is our lunch sessions.

The way that we do lunch is stupid. By the time that we get to the lunchroom and sit down it shaves 5 minutes off of our lunch session. Then after that we have to wait for Casey come and dismiss us. After that it shaves about another 5 minutes off.

After we are done going through all of that we finally get to eat. I’m sorry but our food here is absolutely terrible! Plus to add on to that we don’t get a whole bunch of food. Our lunch is way overpriced for what we get on our trays. We only get about 10 minutes to eat.

All that I am saying is that we need to FIX it..

Change

By: Taylor Heckadon

I could think of a million things to change at my school, but one thing I would choose would have to be the seating arrangements at lunch. They say lunch is where we can socialize with our friends and talk as much as we want; but how can we do that if we don’t sit by our friends? Having to sit by the people in our class is simple minded if you ask me.
Sitting by our friends in lunch would give us time to get all of our energy out, and what I mean by energy is all of the talking. It would have kids more focused on the teacher’s instructions when they get back into the classroom.
Another reason why kids should sit by their friends at lunch is because they can get out everything they want to tell their friends at lunch instead of spending the whole time during passing time. Decreases amount of tardies we have in the school.

Change for the greater good

Change is to become or make different. I think ESMS needs change for the greater good, that is. We want students to enjoy school; we don’t want them to come because they are forced to. We want them to come because they choose to. One change we need is a different schedule.
I think ESMS should have a different lunch schedule. Perhaps, more time. A lot of students complain that they don’t have enough time to eat. I agree, because I can relate it. Literally, the bell rings and we take our seats. We are spending most of our lunch waiting to get called to get our trays. Then, when we get our food, we look at the clock and before we know it, we have five minutes left to devour our food.
We need this change because honestly, without food humans can’t function.  If the students are well fed, their attitude will most likely be more positive towards work. If the students are more positive towards work, then obviously more work will get done by them. That’s why I think we need a change, a change for a better good.
