SNOW DAYS by Addi

So on December 16th & 17th we had snow days. I really wanted us to have
school on the 17th because we have a lot of work that needs to be done. Also
we need to practice for our game thursday we really need a win. I also hate how
our teachers have to push everything back because some of the assignments
can push up my grades. I think we could of had school yesterday and I know
the back roads were bad but it's not like the whole town was trash. There’s just
so much we needed to do our project in math, our test in social studies, and our
fables in ELA. So long story short, there is a lot of work we need to before
Christmas break.

VR by Regan

Recently I was able to use virtual reality goggles during school, one of the best things about
it was that all I needed was my phone and some free time. Located in the learning commons are
virtual reality goggles available for anyone to use. If you have all of your work done in a class and
you have enough time you can come to the learning commons with your
phone and Ms.Travis can show you how to use the goggles. A brief review of how to use the
goggles is go to youtube and search for virtual reality and what kind of VR you want to experience,
such as virtual reality under the sea. Next, open the goggles and center your phone onto the goggles
so you see the video correctly, close the clasp over your phone to make sure that it won’t fall out.
My personal experience was so unreal. I did 2 different VR videos, one was a haunted house and
one was under the sea. The under the sea one was the one that felt very unreal, it was also 3-D so
if you moved your head you could see what else was around you. I personally liked the haunted house
one even though I don't like scary things, I liked this one because it makes you jump. Thank you for
reading about the Learning Commons VR goggles and consider coming in some time to experience
what it is like for yourself!

One of my favorite books as a kid was A Wrinkle in Time . The reason I liked was the sense
of serialism the book offered and it lets you make the story your own with the wild imagery it puts
in your head . Also I loved the characters and the world it builds throughout the story . It’s just a lot
of fun, so I recommend you give this book a read .

A book I would like to recommend to everyone is the book called
“restart” this book is by Gordon Korman. If you would like to read this book, you can find
the book in the realistic fiction book shelves located near the back left of the learning
commons.
I recommend this book because it has a lot of surprises that you wouldn’t believe
would happen. In this book a boy named Chase fell off of his roof and lost his memory.
He didn’t even remember his own name. When he walks to school people seemed to be
scared of him. He spent his school what trying to figure out why everyone is scared of him
and angry at him. I would recommend this book if you like surprises and mystery that
makes you feel like you are the book.

The book I chose to recommend this quarter is Firelight. This book has a
series, and is located in the Fantasy section. Firelight starts with a girl and her friend alone in a forest.
They transform into dragon-like creatures, called draki, and fly around. They are almost caught by
hunters and the friend runs away. The girl gets trapped in a cave and is caught by a boy. But he
doesn’t bring her anywhere. He leaves her alone in that cave. Throughout the story, she encounters
many different people who are very important. In the end? You’ll have to read it yourself. I would rate
this book five out of five stars because I was so interested in it. It keeps you on the edge of your seat
the whole time. Find this book in the Fantasy section along with its other books.

Stolen Children by Peg Kehret

This book is one of my favorite books. Mrs. Weber
read it to our 4th grade class. This book is a combination
of suspense and mystery. It always has you guessing. It
is about a girl who goes missing and the kidnappers ask
for a ransom. Little do they know, people they knew helped
with the kidnapping. Will they get their daughter back?
Find this book in mystery section to find out!
