Pangea Mary grace Williams
Pangea was a land mass that existed millions
of years ago and consisted of all the tectonic plates and covered about one
third of the earths’ surface. It is believed that Pangea was formed three
hundred thousand years ago and broke apart about two hundred thousand.
Pangea is a Greek term that means all land
this started being used when Alfred Wegner noticed all the continents looked
like they fit together like pieces of a puzzle. Later he created a theory of a
continental drift to explain why the continents looked like they fit together
the way they did.
