ESMS Reading Wonderland Book Fair

ESMS
Reading Wonderland
Book Fair
By: Bethany Aldrich
This winter is our annual book fair. This year, I get to be a part of promoting the book fair in my 21st Century Communication and Collaboration class. We have enjoyed making promotional products to encourage ESMS students to buy books and support us in the Scholastics Book Crew contest. We had to provide evidence about our book fair crew, so we made t-shirts, and we have a video on You Tube. This enables us to get 2,000 Scholastic dollars that goes towards buying equipment for our library, or buying books for our teachers.
As we got prepared for the book fair, we had some of the ESMS Staff help us, even by donating. Ms. Travis has helped us decorate the Library, and has also helped us with ideas towards the decorating. Mrs. Kuebler has helped us video tape the Book Fair Crew video, and has encouraged us all the way!
There are two special things about this year’s book fair. One is that we have a donation going towards a program called All For Books, it helps schools that have lost their teaching supplies (books) to a disaster, but this year, the money will go to the Good Samaritan Center located right here in Excelsior Springs. The second special thing about this year’s book fair is that we have a Teacher Wish List Tree. It contains all the books that teachers wish to have in their room. Students may purchase these books off of their teacher’s wish list at the book fair.
I guess that you could say that I am a little excited about this book fair, but no one can be more excited than Ms. Travis herself.
