ESMS Sports

ESMS SPORTS
          Bethany Aldrich
When you think about sports, you think about high school, college, and professional leagues, but you never think about middle school sports. That’s probably because middle school only offers boy’s football, girl’s volleyball, boys and girl’s basketball, boy’s wrestling, coed cross country, and coed track.
There are a lot of athletes here at ESMS, and some of the sports that they might play aren’t offered. It disappoints some, and excites others that their sports is or isn’t offered. That’s why, in my opinion, there should be more sports offered.
High schools and colleges have mostly the same offered sports like cheerleading, football, dance team, basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball, golf, track and field, and tennis. If you are ever interested in doing one of these sports, then the best way to get a head start is in middle school, but there is one problem, some of these aren’t offered at your middle school.
If we should ever want to join a sport in high school or college, then the middle school should offer it. That is why I think we should be offered the same sports in middle school as in high school.
