New
Contests in the Learning Commons
For the year
of 2014-15, the learning commons will be running fun reading contests that will
give you the opportunity to receive prizes. There are multiple options to
choose from, or maybe you are willing to give them all a try.
One contest
the learning Commons is offering is the book passport contest. You will receive
a passport with 8 different book genres. To receive a prize, you must read a
book and write a summary in 6 of the 8 genres. This is a great opportunity to
find your favorite genre, get out of your comfort zone, and explore different
books!
A second
contest option is the Mark Twain nominee contest. If you read one of them per
quarter, or 4 for the year, you either get to attend a party at the end of the
year, or you receive a prize. All of the Mark Twain’s are great books, and an
amazing reading option.
The last
contest I want to tell you about is for the Mid-Continent Public Library. They
run multiple contests every year, so it’s a great thing to check on, and see if
they are running any contests you’re interested in!
Contests are
a great way to explore, and become a better reader by having FUN!
