My Weekend
Morgan Milledge
My weekend started off
Saturday, September 6th on a car ride to Chariton, Iowa where my
dad’s side of the family lives. My cousin, Alexa, had just turned 15 the day
before and I was heading up to come to her birthday party. I was very excited
because I usually don’t get to attend my family’s parties because I live so far
away.
When I got to Chariton
my dad took me to Alexa’s house. From there, we picked up one of my other aunts
and then went on to pick up Alexa’s friend Laura. The party started off with us
going to a nail salon in Indianola, Iowa where we got our nails done. This took
almost three hours, but it was worth it. Next, we headed to Jordan Creek mall
in Des Moines where we bought many items including “Maple Bacon” lip balm which
not only smelled but tasted like canned dog food.
After the mall, we
headed to a restaurant called Fuddruckers. We ate good food and sat around and
talked for a while until we decided to go. It seemed like I had already known
Laura for forever and we then went to Kohl’s. We bought some things there and
lastly went to Wal-Mart where we rode around on rip sticks and scooters while
my aunt picked up some photos.
My night ended by going
back to Alexa’s house and staying up talking with Laura whom I had become very
good friends with over the course of ten hours. Overall, I had a great weekend
and hope to head back up to Iowa again soon.
