The First Days of School
Morgan Milledge
My first day of school was very hectic. I was sort of
used to waking up early for school from W.E.B. training, but I was still
adjusting to waking up at 5:45 a.m.. When I got to school the first morning,
everything felt backwards. From the hallways, to classes, to lunch. I was
nervous because I wasn’t quite sure who all would be in my class, but I ended
up having a lot of classes with my closest friends. The first day actually went
very well. I was able to help a couple of sixth graders (and a couple of eighth
graders!).
School has been going on for
a couple days now and everything has gone well so far. My W.E.B. group has been
very nice and well behaved to my partner, Abby, and I. I have forgotten my
schedule a lot but I still manage to make it to my next class and remember my
supplies.
A lot of things have changed
this year. The library is now the Learning Commons, which is still hard for me
to remember but I’m trying! All of my classes have changed, and it’s hard to
remember where some of my classes are at times. Band has changed, too. Instead
of having woodwind and brass instruments in separate classes, we are all
together! We have also adopted a new intruder alert system.
Over all, this has been a
very good start to eighth grade and I am very excited to try my best and see
what I can do!
