THis year by Braedyn

This year I have learned to do stuff earlier instead of waiting till the last minute to do it.
I have also learned how to organize the books using the Dewey Decimal system. We
also learned how to work as a group to get stuff done faster.

In techsperts, we have to do blogs on what is going on in the school and what's going on
in techsperts. Once a week we have to organize and put away books,  every day we have
to do a work log on what we did. Sometimes teachers will ask if we can work on projects for them.

I am excited for next year because I will be a web leader, a techspert, and I will be in algebra
1.  As a web leader, I will get to participate in helping the incoming 6th graders, and give them
tips about middle school.   As a techspert, I will get to work on projects since I'll be in the 2nd
hour, our projects include organizing books, creating videos for Mr. Atkins, help teachers if they
need it, write blogs, and work on posters.  Algebra 1 is a 9th-grade course which includes a high
school credit. in the class, you learn advanced 9th-grade math.

Sports by Jocelyn

Sports in 7th grade is something you should really look forward to because
if you like to play sports you can practice/play for parks and rec, but when
you are in 7th grade you can play a lot of sports for the school team like
  • Basketball
  • Track/ Cross Country
  • Volleyball
  • Wrestling
  • ETC
But if you don’t like to play sports thats sad number one and you could still try
out for plays at the high school and have a small part

So far in techsperts, we have done lots of fun stuff. We have organized books, helped people
with iPads, made out 2019-2020 folders, and chosen our spirit week themes for homecoming
week. Monday is comfy day, Tuesday is America day, Wednesday is Hawaiian day, Thursday
is throwback Thursday, and Friday is tiger spirit day. I am so excited to see what everyone comes
up with! The day that I am most excited about is throwback Thursday because I love dressing like
the 80’s. I am loving being a techspert this year and I am so excited for what’s to come!

It has only been my second day of school, but there is one thing that has completely
changed since elementary school, other than switching classes, and getting lockers.
School lunches, are amazing. Middle school lunches have completely changed my
mindset on school lunches. In elementary school we had two lunch options, and a
side bar. I used to eat the school lunches close to everyday when I was in the younger
grades of elementary school. We had nachos, chicken patties, hamburgers, salads,
and tons of fruits from the side bars. “It is good for school lunches”, some would say.
What is that supposed to mean? Are restaurants superior to school lunches? I have
never felt strongly about school lunches, it has never been a topic of research for me,
since I have not had any other schools to compare our school lunch too. I personally
like our school lunches, and thought they were good. I haven’t ate school lunch since
third grade, I just got tired of the same things every week, and the same sides everyday.
Then, rumors flew around the fifth grade lunch tables.
“My brother said that middle school has ice cream”
“I heard that you get to have chips, and juices at lunch in Middle school”
I heard it over and over again, but never believed it.On August 15th, 2019, I
found out the truth. It was the first day of school and the cafeteria was filled
with newly hungry fifth graders. The lunchroom didn’t have much of a smell when
we walked in, but I still imagined the lunch food being normal, and there was no ice
cream of chips at all. Boy, was I wrong. There is ice cream, rows of chips, sparkling
waters, apple juice, and dozens of scrumptious sides. The entrees are unexplainable
though. Every day of the school week, there are six different lunch options to choose from.
Today was the yummiest sounding pizza I have ever heard of, buffalo chicken pizza.
On Monday, I’m going to eat school lunch for the first time in three years.

Career Choices by Willa

Career Choices.

Many little kids want to be doctors, nurses, artists, firefighters, or construction workers,
but not me, I have always wanted to be something more. When I was little I always wanted
wanted to be an author. Before I could write or read, I would draw pictures, and when I would
tell the story I would just make stuff up to match the picture. I was embarrassed by the stories,
and would hide them in the piano bench when friends or family came over. As II grew up, I loved
writing more and more. My hard work paid off, and people started to read and really like my stories.
Then, in fourth grade I got super into ocean animals.I fell in love with marine biology. I wanted to be
a marine biologist so bad. Then, in fifth grade, we went on a cruise to Mexico. We went snorkeling,
and I was scared silly. I was so terrified to get into the ocean, I was on the verge of tears. I couldn’t
believe how I wanted to be a marine biologist so bad, but was scared of the work setting. I gave up
on my goals of being a marine biologist.

Then the idea came to my head when we were doing social studies in class one day.
What if I build rockets for NASA as my career? I did all the research I could on job
openings for NASA, salary, what degrees I needed to have, and how old did I have
to be to start. I could start working for NASA at the age of 16, but was it worth
moving to Texas, and not going to college for. I still have 5 years to make the
decision if I want to graduate high school early or not. Or maybe, NASA will
shut down before I make it there, but it never hurts to dream and make goals.

Spirit Week by Jacob

Spirit Week Blog
I am excited for spirit week because we get to have fun and dress up for
different days. Some of the days include America day when you get to support
the US and the military, and all of our first responders. There are also days like the
comfy cozy days when you wear PJs and comfy clothes. We also have black and gold
day when you wear all of your tiger gear for the game that night. I am very excited to see
what everyone has to wear for spirit week!
