On The Run: Chasing the Falconers

   

This book is about these kids named Margaret and Aiden Falconer who 
were sent to a Farm Camp because their parents were framed and got 
sentenced to life in jail, So Aiden burns down the farm and escapes with 
Margaret, and they are off to attempt to get there parents out of jail so
 they can live normal lives. While they are on their adventure they encounter
 a guy named Emmanual Harris, an FBI agent, who opened the case of Dr.
John and Louise Falconer and sent them to prison. I don't want to spoil the

Allies

     Allies is a book about a U.S soldier named Dee who took part in D-Day with his friend, Sid, by 
his side. It took a lot of bravery to get to the seawall. Would he get pelted by a storm of German 
bullets or would be the lucky soldier to make it? Samara is a child who is on her own after her mother 
got caught helping a family escape. She has to help deliver a message to the Resistance with a 
companion named Cyrano. She wants to save her mother, but will she in time? Henry, a medic, 
was running around to save his fellow soldiers that lay on the beach. He only could save a few at 
a time. Would he rescue them in time, or would he watch them die in his arms? So many things 
to do with such limited time. Alliesis packed with action. It is also about WWII and its historical fiction. 
If you like stuff like that, this book is for you. You can find it in the Historical Fiction section in the

 Because of Mr. Terupt

I recommended this book “because of Mr.Terupt” by Rob Buyea because it really inspired 
me by the way I think of people. It is kind of a sentimental book but it can be a mystery 
sometimes. This book is about kids in fifth grade with an awesome teacher. There are a 
total of 7 kids Jessica (new kid) Alexia (the bully) Peter (troublemaker) Luke (smart kid) 
Danielle (shy kid) Anna (outcast) Jeffery (hates school) with their own little secrets. Their 
teacher Mr. Terupt changes them into a better person and makes the classes fun. They 
have a cool program where if they have a good day they put a link then they get a free 
day. They finally got a free day after a good 27 days and decided they would go outside 
and have some fun in the snow…well there was an accident.

Last week we had the NWEA. I did pretty good one the nwea. 
Thunderbird has had a test in ela and ss. 

We have half day Thursday and no school Friday. On Thursday 
we have career day.  We are going to have all different careers 
coming.

Career Day by Katie

This Thursday is a half day! But not only that but we are also having career day that day! 
That is when some parents come in and share about their jobs! My dad is going to come in too! 
Some other parents are going to come in too to help explain their jobs. Career day is also on a half
 day but it is also said to be cold, so bundle up. Career day could also be cancelled but I hope not
 because it really is enjoyable. It can be fun to hear about future job ideas and keep an open mind to
 your future. That is what Career day wishes to teach us after all. So make sure to keep an open mind 
and you may find your new dream job to work towards!

Interview

I think the idea of interviews of teachers are super cool, and we get to learn about the 
teachers in our school. Sydnie did an interview with Ms.P and I had no idea she had been 
working for that many years. When we are done and you share it with your friends then 
only your friends know. But what is awesome is when our interviews are done Ms.Travis 
post it on the school Facebook page to share with anyone who is following that page, and 
they get to learn new stuff about their kid’s teachers. I love this idea and I hope we will 
continue this program next year.

02/10/20:
This upcoming Thursday is showcase. We will be having a half day on Thursday and it’s career
day. We will also not be having school on Friday because of showcase.
To add to this we will have no school next Monday as well because it’s Presidents’ Day. So this
will give us a 4.5 day weekend. Friday is also Valentine’s Day so we can celebrate that.
