I was given the opportunities to help prepare both of our 2013-2014 book fairs! Even though their preparations would fairly different, being a part of them was very fun!

 For the Reading Wonderland, the décor was mostly hanging up blue, grey and white streaming, taping big foot prints down, creating BIG books, mostly just using our imagination. We worked on the Reading Wonderland for about 4-5 weeks! Apparently, all the hard work paid off because we exceeded all our goals and Scholastic for the very first time, asked to use our YouTube video to display to other participants of the contests.

                Now the preparation for the Fiesta of the Mind is a little different. We hung up flags, we hung up signs and we are still in the process of the creations! Hopefully, all of our hard work pays off this time!

The Book Fair is COMING SOON!

The scholastic Book Fair is coming to Excelsior Springs Middle School! The book fair crew and I would like to personally invite you to join us May 5^th- May 9^th at the middle school Learning Commons to help us celebrate the ‘Fiesta of the Mind!’ We have a lot of activities to do and I promise it’s going to be really fun. We’re all really excited about it.

          What we’ve been doing in 21^st Century Communications is creating different lovely visuals and different activities for the students to participate in. This includes, but is not limited to; Scavenger hunts, door decorating contests, taco ‘bout it family night, sucker pulls, and surprise balls!

          As you can tell, we are going to have a lot of fun. We hope you decide to join us and help us reach our goal of making 1500 dollars! Don’t forget, it’s a buy one get one free deal! Hope to see you there!

The ESMS book fair is coming soon. It’s a buy one get one free. We are having a taco about family night. There are many festivities that will be taking place. There will be an around the school scavenger hunt for the family’s that participate. Come step into our scholastic reading fiesta.  May 5^th-9^th.

                There is and decorate your decorate your door contest to get hyped up for the book fair. It’s for all teachers with 5^th hour classes. The doors will be judged by the students bringing in money into the learning commons. And drop it into the box with their doors teacher names on it. The money that is raised through this contest will be for all for books. That will go to a charity.

                Our goals are 300 books sold plus $300 dollars for all for books. We have high hopes to reach $1500 in sales over all. Help us reach money for our charity and to be apart in our fiesta to get first place in the scholastic contest.

Next month’s book fair is going to be Epic!!! This time the theme is Mexican fiesta! There will be books by all your favorite author’s and more!! We will be having contest throughout the next couple weeks all the way up to the day of the book fair. A lot of work goes into preparing for a book fair; many students are helping get ready for it. If you like books and Mexican Fiestas then the book fair is the place for you to be. Come check it out May 5^th through 9^th 3:00pm to 6:00pm. Hope to see you there!!!

The FIesta of the Mind Book Fair is COMING!

The book fair is just around the corner and the books are buy one get one free! It is fiesta themed; also on family night we will have a taco hunt were you find as many tacos as possible for a prize. Also come and donate books to teachers; there will be a big cactus for you to put the books that you want to donate on. Buy suckers for a chance to win a prize also. The book fair is May 5-9, so get into a Mexican mood and come buy some books.
